What It FEELS LIKE to SEARCH for a Lost Lovie & to HELP SOMEONE ELSE FIND THEIRS

I was teasing Liza about being such a busy lady while I was thanking her for spending so much time searching for other people's lost lovies, and this was her response:

I have been busy! It really has gotten to me - I mean, it's not only affected my daughter, but I'm just as saddened at losing her Poppy.

I can really feel for both parents and kids whose lives - although others can't see why - really DO get turned upside down when kids lose their loveys. It becomes days and then weeks of this all-consuming desire to both comfort your child, while at the same time beginning the daunting undertaking of finding a replacement.

Helping that man find a replacement for his daughter's bear yesterday made me feel so good. At least I helped one little girl - even if it wasn't my own. I figured, today, since I had a really light day here at work and some free time, I could at least take one day and devote it to looking for lost loveys. Some parents may not have the luxury of free hours to devote to searching.

Hopefully, I was able to help someone else. I hope I did. Again, it makes me feel a little better knowing that losing Poppy, as cheesy as it sounds, wasn't in vain since I ended up helping someone else.

Now back to searching for Poppy!!!!!!!

FOUND - MOTHERCARE Light Brown TEDDY BEAR

Ian is looking for this same Mothercare bear. Hopefully somebody can help him out, too! He was able to find one in Madrid!!!

I too am looking for a teddy the same as the picture. As Mothercare no longer sell this model I hope someone can help me obtain one either tan colored or light brown like in the picture.

On the 22th Dec., my DH and our two sons were in the airport for the 7.30am flight to Budapest. (gate B22) Everything went fine until we were seated on the plane and suddenly realized that my 4 year old son's favorite teddy had been left behind. We had left it at the gate and couldn't go back to find it. To say he has been pining for it since is huge understatement.

He chose that teddy in Mothercare when he was 10 months old and slept with it every night since. I tried lost property in the airport and at the service air desk but no luck. I tried Mothercare, but the line has been discontinued. I don't know what to do at this stage except appeal to you all.

If someone picked up the bear for safekeeping we would greatly appreciate his safe return.

Also, if you have this brown, abt.12 inches long, teddy bear from Mothercare that your kids do not use anymore, please get in touch with me, as it my be the lookalike of the one my son lost.

Searching - CUDDLE ZONE BIG NOSE WHITE LAMB Please Help This Family!!

Hi! I was so happy to find your website. I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me find a very special stuffed lamb.

He was bought at Target around September 2006. The tag on his ear said Cuddle Zone and 9 inch round lamb. He is very soft and cute with a big nose =)

He is very special to me because my husband and I bought this when I was pregnant...unfortunately our baby passed away when he was just 5 days old, and his lamby was buried with him.

I would really like one like it for me to have kind of in remembrance...I've looked all over at Targets and eBay and can't seem to find him. They still have Cuddle Zone at Target but they changed the types of animals.

I appreciate any help I receive in how I could find one like him!!!

Searching - CARTER'S Just One Year Musical PINK with Purple Flowers BUNNY

This bunny has turned out to be one of our most requested toys. So many families have asked for help finding one that I fear I may have lost track of someone who needs one.

We received an email this morning thanking on of our readers, Jennifer, for helping Mandy find one she had asked for a long time ago.

So, I am running the request again for Venessa, who I think is the only one who still needs one. If I find anyone else among my files who never did get one, I will add their name, too, and if you are one of those looking and I need to add your name to this new post, please let me know.

I am looking for a pink bunny. It is made by Carter's Just One Year. I purchased the bunny in the Spring of 2006. It is about 11 inches tall, pink with purple flowers on it. It has a musical pull on the back.

Searching - 50's?? 60's??? GRAY MAMA CAT Lying Down ZIPPER TUMMY With or Without Original Kittens

I think this one from eBay is very similar. It’s a Dakin from 1981 same color with three kittens, only they attach as if nursing with Velcro and do not go in the tummy. That’s the closest I have found so far.

Here's an update on Carrie's mother's condition as of 06/25/08:

She is making incredible progress! Due to a stroke after the surgery she needs physical therapy to strengthen her left side and to help walk but is definitely gaining that strength. She has a speech therapist and is making progress there too! She just had eye surgery which cleared her vision in her left eye. The doctors say she should make a 95-100 percent recovery which is totally amazing!

Please help if you can. My mother recently suffered a brain aneurysm and we do not know her prognosis. When she was little her favorite toy was a stuffed cat with Velcro a ZIPPER tummy that had kittens inside. Mom is 55 years old, so I imagine the cat was in production 45-50 years ago.

I think it would help her to have her kitty by her side again.

I don’t have a picture of the cat, but I remember that it was gray and in a laying position. It was one of the more realistic looking stuffed animals for the time (1950’s). I don’t know if that will help.

I have even searched for a cat that looks similar so that I could add the tummy and kittens but I have not had any luck. She lived in the Los Angeles area, San Gabriel I think… if that helps.

Searching - 80's Seated Brown Floppy Eared PUPPY Dog with RAINBOW PATCH

Obviously this is my attempt to show something of what Melissa's Puppy looked like.

I have a stuffed animal that I received as a gift when I was born, which was in 1985. He is in a sort of sitting position like most stuffed animals and has long floppy ears like a rabbit, but looks like a dog. He had a rainbow patch on his stomach, but mine has been chewed up by animals a few times so my Mother had to replace it with a heart patch.

I slept with him every single night and called him "Puppy". I always liked the feel of his ears and was constantly rubbing them. I rubbed his ears so much that he doesn't have ears left. He has glass black eyes and a oval nose. This stuffed animal means a lot to me, and I would love to find another one, so I could have one for my 19 month old daughter.

Help!! I am desperately trying to find another "Puppy"!

FOUND - Carter's? CUDDLE ME Pink RABBIT Plays Music

I LUV your site. It is a God Send. I really hope you can help. I need to have a back up of my daughter's (prob almost 4 yr old) pink stuffed bunny.

I THINK it's Carter's but not sure. It is velvety, has a pink bow around neck, has "Cuddle Me" embroidered on his chest with a li'l bunny and used to play music when you pulled the white plastic handle between his legs.

I am SO hoping you may have one or can point me in the right direction. We went into Manhattan last night to see the Little Mermaid on Broadway and she dropped it in the aisle. THANK GOD a lady chased us down and we got it back, but I am PETRIFIED she may loose it. She has had it since birth and cannot sleep if it is in washing machine or not in her arms.

FOUND - Very Hard to Find LARGE WHITE PUFFALUMP LAMB

Greg wrote to me not long ago, and I wanted to share this happy ending with you.

I am looking for a White Puffalump Lamb, Fisher Price #8009, My girlfriend has had it since a few months after she was born, and her sister's dog shredded what was left of it last week. It would mean a lot to her if she could get another.

Knowing this is a very hard to find lamb, I wrote back, telling him not to get his hopes up. As I always do, I spent some time searching for this lovey, and was surprised to actually find one for sale on eBay. Granted, it was not cheap, but Greg did get my urgent email telling him where he could find it. He's written back with this happy conclusion:

My name is Greg, and you were able to direct me to a vintage 1986 Puffalump Lamb on e-bay. I just wanted to let you know that I won the auction, and the Lamb has been given to my girlfriend. It is exactly like the one she has had since her birth that was destroyed recently.

When I gave it to her she just stared at it for about 30 seconds in silence, stunned. Then spent a good while squeezing it, and crying because she was so happy. It means more to her than just about anything I can imagine. I just thought you might want to know how wonderfully happy you helped make a very special person. Thank you so very much. I hope your business does very well. Anyone I know who might be able to use your site, I will refer in a heartbeat.

I wanted all you dear folks to know that I really do try hard to help each and every one of you. Our Search Service averages over a thousand readers a week, and my inbox fills up every day with requests for help. We do sell plush toys, so sometimes we have the item in stock people are looking for, and occasionally we make an immediate sale.

Usually I can find one or two lovies on the Internet the first day I get the email, simply because I have learned from experience how to search for plush toys. And I find even more within a few days. So a lot of toys are found, such as Greg's, without anything showing up on this blog at all.

Right now I have about 75 or so requests that I have emailed the person, asking for more information or a photo, and for most of those I have already done an initial search on the Internet. There are about 50 requests that are ready to post as soon as I can get time to do it, some with good photos, and some with poor ones that I have tried to edit into presentable condition.

Lately we have had several requests asking if we make a certain toy. No, we do not make the toys, only find them. We can, however, suggest that families contact two ladies who are quite skilled at making replicas, Susan and Hanna. Their links are on the sidebar.

We get lots of emails from folks wanting to know how the posting works.

I have our email address hidden in a Contact form, so we do not get flooded with spam. I also try to protect the email addresses of the people writing to us. We value our privacy and yours!

There is no way for a reader to directly post a photo, although some do write their requests in a comment. That's fine, but for the best results you need to Contact Us with a complete description and a brief story about why you are looking for the item. I will get back to you as soon as possible, so you can send the photos by reply email.

Searching - Make Your Own BROWN & WHITE DOG Zipper in Back

I am looking for a replacement for my daughter's lovey. It is a soft stuffed brown and white puppy dog. It was bought for her at one of those local build your own bear (not Build-a-Bear) stores, so it is not a name brand, i.e. Carter's. There is not even a tag on him.

"Pepper" was purchased at the Aspen Bear Company in Midland, TX in December of 2005. They have since closed. He is smooth coated but very soft and floppy. He has a zipper in the back where the stuffing was put in.

This is the most important part of Pepper, as my daughter plays with it while she falls asleep. He is stuffed with all batting, no beads or beans (I'm not sure what they are called).

My daughter received this when she was 6 months old and has not slept a night without him since. We have already had to replace her "woobie" (blanket) and I'd like to have a puppy as similar as possible on hand in case an "emergency" replacement is needed for Pepper as well.

Searching - Very Important PINK BUNNY - PINK CHECKS BODY

“Oh, no,” I replied, “We could put him in the washing machine and he’d be good as new”! Again she replied, “PLEASE!! I really, really want to give this to the baby!” At last, I gave in and accepted the toy, and put it through the washer and dryer before giving it to my son. Somehow, it was ALWAYS his favorite toy!!! (T.J. just had an instinct about people!!)

Long after most children give up stuffed animals, T.J. took Pink Bunny to bed with him! (This is one of those “time for bed” photos!) I called one of his former girlfriends, because I remembered that he had given it to her when he was 16.

She didn't return my calls, and I am terrified that she might have thrown it away when they broke up. However, just in case "Pink Bunny" made its way elsewhere, or in case there is another one just like it somewhere out there, I'd love to buy it.

I had always envisioned that, someday I'd be in a nursing home, clinging to that precious pink, fuzzy rabbit wearing a pink & white checkered suit (sewn-on). In fact, the only places he was "fuzzy" were part of the ears, his head, and paws. I believe Pink Bunny was about 11” long with ears extended up.

Shortly before we lost our son, I lost my job, my home and my mobility -- and also my church community! (I was the organist/choir director at a church where I'd expected to stay for the rest of my life, but due to some strange misunderstandings, plus the perception that I was "tired" from caring for my elderly mother, I was forced to resign! This came as a terrible shock! Then I was injured while my husband & I were moving into my mother's home, as she was no longer able to live alone after her stroke (yes, I'm the only child). Mom just died this past July, and we're still here, unable to afford to move to a home of our own. (Trying to help our son exhausted all of our resources.)

I am still deeply depressed and unable to work, except for substituting as organist periodically (at other churches) and having 2 piano students (I used to have 35 or more!) I just can't seem to get my health, memory or concentration back.

But being able to hold Pink Bunny again would really help!

SEARCHING - GUND Peter Rabbit COMFY COZY

They DO NOT have any in stock.Thanks to one of our readers who let me know that the store that had been out of stock now had them in stock, I emailed everyone who had asked for help finding one. I hope they all get one, but since we don't have any way of knowing how many they had in stock, I will leave this as a SEARCHING post until I have heard from everyone.

I am in search of a Peter Rabbit Comfy Cozy by Gund. There are pictures of it on the net, easy to find. But it has been discontinued. My daughter doesn't really get too attached to things, until this. She has been "borrowing" one from daycare. It concerns me though because it's not any random toy. Our daycare provider's mother bought the lovie for her when they were all at Disney World and she was pregnant with her youngest daughter.

I just don't feel comfortable with my daughter making it hers, but she loves the thing. I haven't been able to locate one to purchase. There was one website that allowed me to place an order, but then canceled saying that they didn't have any.

FOUND - Kid's Preferred BLUE & WHITE PUPPY DOG with Baseball Style STITCHING

Searching - GREEN FROG Plush FULL BODY PUPPET

We have lost our green full body hand puppet plush FROG. She's about 14" tall and her name is Jolene. She's very special. We were trying to get off the #4 subway at Grand Central when a big man pushed his way to the seat Heidi was vacating. I managed to get off the train with Heidi, but Jolene stayed on - never to be heard from again.

No luck with posters or lost and found. No luck searching the internet. She is probably at least 8 to 10 years, old maybe older.

Heidi has emotional problems as a result of extreme back reconstruction and a 3 way by-pass after 5 heart attacks. Jolene makes her feel safe and goes everywhere with her. Things have not been the same around here since this happened on the 24th of January, 2008.

Jolene does not normally wear glasses. Her hands and feet are plain, not webbed.. I sure hope you can help.

Searching - Target YELLOW Spotted LION ORANGE MANE Velcro Paws

I am looking for a yellow plush lion that was sold at Target around late 2002 or early 2003. When my son was about 6 mos old we took him to Target and he "begged" for a toy (pointed and grunted). They had several of these same "style" of animals: pink cat, green frog, etc. He chose the lion on his own and since I was sick and tired of buying toys all the time decided that lion would stay in the car and be "traveling lion".

Well, he made his way into the house and my son's heart - slept with it, ate with it, took it to daycare, EVERYWHERE! He liked to chew on his face for some reason, so the eyes had to be removed and replaced and since the animal got so stinky was bathed very regularly. Now the tag is washed out and unreadable!

He was renamed Sunny Lion by my son and is VERY much loved by him. The lion is, as mentioned, mainly yellow with a white pattern in his body, arm and leg fabric. Has a tail and an orange mane. The original eyes were black plastic. The arms are exaggeratedly long with Velcro on the hands, and the legs are plumper with a curve (looks like the poor thing has scurvy) to them and also Velcro on the feet.

I have searched eBay and Yahoo with no luck. I was smart enough to buy a back up... but it was lost in a grocery store some years ago and never seen since, and the original is so tattered that I am afraid that he will fall apart. My son will still occasionally ask after Sunny when we go to that grocery store or look around for him (and it has been YEARS!).

Any assistance in finding this lion would be very helpful! As mentioned, we bought it at Target in their regular stuffed animal isle, so I know it isn't a brand like Gund or others mentioned here. I just call it the "Target brand" of stuffed animal. Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

FOUND - Wal-Mart Large BROWN CHENILLE DOG with WHITE on FACE

My little girl lost her beloved stuffed bear/dog in a move. We have searched and called everywhere. I am really hoping that someone has one. It was purchased from Wal-mart in November/December of 2004.

One picture shows a little better what it looked like new, which hopefully someone has. The one that is more tattered looking is a picture from right before we lost it. It has been a few months now and she still cries 2-3 times a week for it. My husband and I have tried everything. I would be so happy if this works.

One of our very helpful readers sent me this today. I am writing regarding the dog - I'm Your Little Rascal -- Here is a photo of the large one. He is wearing a green shirt (Desmond is looking for one with an ORANGE SHIRT.) He is the large one - about 12-13 inches I would say - no beans. I sold him in December - for I think $75.00 to a lady who was buying him as a Christmas gift for her boyfriend. It seems like it was Dakin or Russ -- I just don't remember which. I'm leaning towards Dakin.

I am looking for a stuffed dog from the 80's. I had two sizes of this dog. The smaller size one has a beanie body while the bigger one doesn't. It is orange brown in color with dark brown flappy ears.

It has oval plastic eyes, and the nose is sewn in thread. The big one wears an orange shirt which say "I am your little rascal", while for the smaller sized one the shirt is actually part of the body, sewn together.

Both sizes of dogs are in a sitting up right position with the hands and legs outstretched.

Does anyone has any idea what is the name of this dog and where can I still buy it now?

Searching - BLUE BUNNY RABBIT

This bunny (Edgar) means the world to my husband and me. He went missing three years ago now, and I can not even begin to tell you how much he is missed. I'm looking for him to get some kind of coherence and sanity back in my life. I need this bunny back. We both do. Please, please help.

I would estimate it at about 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 inches. He could stand up by himself. His ears stood up and were fairly pointy, but were soft and you could move them back and forth. He was pretty soft, I'm not sure what he was filled with (it felt kind of like squeezing foam if you squeezed him), but his body wasn't stiff -- he wasn't overstuffed.

What you can't see in the pictures is the little tail he had. It was quite small and I think might have helped him stand. It was sort of off-white, and dense. It was not poofy or big. It was like a small white pom-pom very low on his back, and touched the ground when he was standing. I don't know what material he was made out of, but it was a little bit like felt. His tail was of a different material than the rest of him.

Taddy was indeed found. When the frog came in the mail this weekend we were a little unsure of how to give it back to him because his original frog was missing an eye and this one was so new and clean.

So we decided to just leave the frog on the floor to see if he would recognize it. We called him downstairs and as soon as he saw Taddy his eyes lighted up and the look on his face was priceless. At last his friend came home. He ran to it and instantly called him Taddy. Everything was right in his world again.

Wonderfully Happy Ending to Our Search for the Yellow "YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE" Elephant!!!!

We have several people who are looking for this particular elephant, but this has to be one of the best stories anybody could imagine. You will have to go back and read the original request now, before you read the ending.

One of our readers told me when the elephant went on eBay, and I wrote Greg. He won it! I wrote him yesterday, to find out how Christmas turned out, and here's his reply:

Rosemary, it went better than I could have ever hoped! We put the kids to bed, and put all the Christmas presents under the tree. When we were finally ready to go to bed, I waited until she left the room to change.

I put it under the tree and wound it up. She came into the room, stopped, tried to find out where the sound was coming from. When she approached the tree and picked it up, she couldn't believe what she had in her hands!

As she turned around, I was standing there with the ring, and asked her to marry me! I think she was overloaded and didn't know what to do! She immediately threw her arms around me and muttered a teary "YES!!". It melted my heart to see her happy, and that entire week she broke into tears at the drop of a hat. :)

I'm certain that I've found the person I was meant to be with forever.

Thanks again for all your help in creating a lifetime memory for my soon-to-be wife and I to cherish forever.

Searching - GUND Large PINK PUPPY DOG with HEART HANGING from his NECK

I am looking for a stuffed pink dog for my daughter Danielle. She discovered this "pink puppy" in the grocery store around Valentine's Day while we were waiting for her prescription to be filled - she was sick with the croup right before she turned one year old. (So this would have been Valentine's Day 2005.)

The pink puppy is made by GUND - in their HEADS and TALES division (the puppy has both these tags on him). The puppy stands up and has a large heart that hangs from his neck (even though ours was lost!).

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, folks.

My son, just before his 3rd birthday, lost his best friend, Monkey Monkey Go Go Pork 'N' Beans. He named him that several months prior, and the monkey had become the centralized character to all of his bedtime stories.

Go Go Beans, as we nicknamed him, was left on an airplane. On the hour-long car trip away from the Denver airport, I realized the monkey was missing. Our In-Laws wouldn't turn around on our midnight journey, so the first thing I did when we got to their home was to call and fill out a missing-item report. 2nd was to look on eBay to see if there was another available. That was in September of 2006, and I have been looking on eBay at least once a week ever since.

Noah didn't notice that Go Go Beans was missing at first. We attempted to distract him with the wiles of being on vacation. Once we got home, we were heading out on a road trip to an improv festival. On the way out the door he said, "Don't forget Go Go Beans!" We sat him down. He cried. A lot. We explained that Go Go Beans stayed on the airplane, because he had so much fun, and that hopefully he'd see the world and then come home soon.

Noah asked to write a letter to him. He dictated and I wrote and drew pictures at his request.

"Dear Go Go Beans,
We want to give you a birthday. (He had me draw a cake with two candles) I hope you're having fun on the airplane. I miss you and I miss you on the airplane. Plane. And I miss you on the ride of the airplane. And I love you *SO* much.

After talking with Target (the parent company that made the original monkey), and their unwillingness to help, I turned to the internet.

I posted the letter to a general discussion section of the Etsy.com forums 10 days before his 3rd birthday. I wanted to know if a few people would send a post card from Go Go Beans.

As of right now, (January of 2008) we have more than 150 post cards from not only around the country, but from around the world - France, Kuwait, York, Australia, Germany to name a few. People have sent stuffed animal friends that Go Go Beans sent back along the way, they've sent artwork, newspapers, magnets, stationary and more. And with all of the many post-cards sent by complete strangers drawn to the story, we have no way of thanking them. We just know that this little boy is thrilled for their kindness.

And while we're still looking for the real Go Go Beans (yes, weekly on eBay) my little guy is excited anytime a post card arrives in the mail. One Family's Solution to Losing a Child's Lovey

One of our readers sent me this story about what they did when her daughter's lovey was lost.

We went through the agony of a lost lovey in 1989, when our middle daughter, then 2, lost her beloved pink Bunny. We were on vacation at a Texas dude ranch and Bunny was absolutely filthy. At the end of the trip we shopped in Fredricksburg, TX, and somehow Bunny got lost between visits to two stores. We noticed he was gone immediately. We asked people, dug through trash bins, and I called stores for a week....no Bunny. The trip home broke our hearts as Sarah cried hysterically all 5 hours for Bunny.

Immediately upon arriving home, I hopped back in the car, drove to a fabric store, and brought home all the materials to make a new Bunny as close to the lost one as possible. Although I didn't finish new Bunny that day, our daughter slept that night with his head. She, and we, got over it and her replacement Bunny has slept with her every night since.

She is now 20, a college senior, and Bunny continues to be her sleep time companion. For me, the quest for finding Bunny 1 faded gradually; I held out hope longer than was logical. For Sarah, she loved Bunny 2 from the get-go.

If you can't find your child's lovey, maybe you can try to recreate it with fabric as we did. True, it won't be identical, but I look at it this way: our children aren't identical and still we love them all. May it be this way with your kids and their loveys.

. Hi - I'm the guy from the MSNBC story that also featured your site. What a great thing you have going here!

It's been a month since Gigi was lost, but Simon still mentions him every couple days, although he has taken to his Gigi Bear replacement pretty well.

Still, we would like to find Gigi again, either the real one or a replacement of the same make. He had no tag, so we don't know who made him - and we bought him at Marshall's and have no receipt...so that trail has ended.

Maybe someone out there will recognize his maker?

BTW, we keep Gigi alive in Simon's life by leaving little things "from Gigi", like chocolates, and little things for the Christmas advent calendar magically appear overnight.

My wife's idea - I thought it would traumatize him more, but he enjoys hearing about Gigi and knowing he's around somewhere. He thinks that Gigi is out there on the train having fun, and playing on the elevator in the station.

He's about 10" in length, soft plush white fur with brown stripes, 2 beady eyes, and threads for whiskers. He's more worn looking than the picture indicates.

Searching - 70's or 80's BROWN HOBO DOG - CLEM????

Hello,

I saw your website and I thought I would email you and ask you if you possibly know of a toy that I am in search of. You look like just the people who can help me. I don’t know what the toy is called, neither do I know who made it. All I know is that the toy was made sometime in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s.

It’s a stuffed dog who was dressed like a hobo. He had bib overalls with patches and possibly a hat. He was brown and had a black nose, but the nose was not plastic, just fabric. For a mouth he had two strings sewn on the snout. He had an apple or a strawberry patch on the left side of the bib of the overalls.

If you have heard of such a toy or even know what it was called, please let me know. I would really like to find this item!

FOUND - Carter's LITTLE PRINCE BLUE BEAR Twinkle Twinkle PULL CRIB TOY

I am looking for a Carter's bear that was made in 2005 - it is made of quartered blue panels of two different very soft feeling fabric, with the words "Little Prince" embroidered on the chest. It also has a tail that, when pulled, plays "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

Any help in getting another one would be greatly appreciated; and I am willing to pay a reasonable price to obtain it.

I'm looking for the gray Rumple bear (Hugsey by Fisher Price). My husband got one from his mother when he was just a little boy. He was going through a rough time then, and when his Momma gave it to him, she said, "Always keep this with you, and any time you get scared you hug that bear and think of me, and he will protect you."

I thought that was the sweetest thing. But we have moved three times now, and he seems to have lost it along the way. This bear meant a lot to him, and well, now he is a new Daddy, and he was hoping to give that bear to his little girl.

Searching - Skeeter NOT TY Cream Stuffed Dog with BROWN EARS, EYE, & SPOT on BACK

I'm looking for a little stuffed dog that has been with me and my girlfriend through thick and thin the last years. We both worked and were going to school 4 nights a week. At times we got pretty miserable, but this little guy was always able to help me cheer her up and vice versa.

He has also traveled everywhere with us. We both had a really bad feeling before our last trip out of the country and debated whether or not to bring him. Unfortunately our instincts were right, and he disappeared. We can't figure out how. He was there one second and then gone.

We knew we were attached to him, but were floored by how much it affected us. There were and still are tears - and we're in our 30's! All the people at the hotel, and the airport have been really helpful and understand where we are coming from. But, he hasn't turned up. We're heart broken.


We'd love to find a replacement and then, and I know this sounds absolutely crazy, hire a spirit channeler to help us collect his energy from the ether and transmit it into his new body. Hey, we live in California so something like that is perfectly normal around these parts :)

I have many pictures, his name tag read "Skeeter" but he wasn't the Ty Classic Skeeter. He was made by another company whose name I can't remember. He was purchased in early 2001.

I really hope that you can help us out. We got through some pretty crazy patches with his help. We really want to have those memories of where we've been and how we made it through, and, of course, we want him to be part of our lives going forward.

Searching - Carter's CHILD of MINE LAMB with YELLOW PRINT BODY

I did a search and found your site and I'm actually looking for a lamb you found for someone else. My 3 year old son has his "lamby" that he's never slept without it. He won't go anywhere without it.

The problem is that it's falling apart and threadbare! The stuffing is coming out, and I'm afraid if I try to re-stuff it and sew it, I'll ruin it, and then he would be heartbroken.

I've been looking for a year or more for one, with no luck. If anyone has seen one my son and I would soooo appreciate it!

I pulled this part of the description from the last person we were able to help:

It has a jersey body with a light print on it. It is about 8" with fuzzy legs with peac>h ends on them. Its head has velour like material on the face that is a light peach material, with bright blue stitched eyes.

It was made exclusively for Walmart in 2003 by Prestige Toys. The manufacturer says it is no longer made. The body has a sound box in it. I think it used to make a twinkle sound.

FOUND - DanDee MY FIRST BUNNY White Fur Pink Body

Several readers have written to say they have one of these bunnies, and Keith was able to get one of them. If someone else is looking for this lovey, they just might be in luck!

I am looking for a "My First Bunny". It is approximately 10 inches tall and the body, arms and legs are pink, with white paws and head. There is satin on the inside of the ears and feet. The eyes are black beads. It had other items sewn on it (ribbon around the neck), but have since fallen off. Any help is appreciated.

Searching - 80's PINK with CALICO BUNNY RABBIT

I am searching for a pink and calico patchwork rabbit that was purchased in the early 80's, probably at a local discount store here in Northeast Ohio, like Fisher Big Wheel or Kmart, probably around Easter time.

It was my son's constant companion, until it was lost at a park and never found. It was not a high quality item or a collectible, but "Bobbity" was very, very much loved by a certain chubby-cheeked little boy who is now a grown man.

He has gotten over it, I'm pretty sure, but I haven't! And I probably won't be able to stop this obsessive searching until I find another "Bobbity"!!

Searching - HERO HIPPO 80's Plush Hippopotamus

This is NOT the Hippo she is looking for, but my attempt to come close to what it looked like.

I am looking for a stuffed toy Hippo from the 1980's. It was about 8-10 inches high, had on a shirt (might have been an orange shirt,) that said HERO on the front. I believe it was a tan color (Now that I look at your picture I'm thinking it was a lighter color more beige.), short legs, the shirt was orange and had written HERO or HIPPO HERO on it. A size for a younger child or toddler to easily hold and carry.

This is a stuffed animal my 28 year old son vividly remembers fondly, and now he has a 3 month old son, and I thought it would be fun to find one for him. Your picture is very close ~ the shirt was I believe short sleeve or sleeveless, and he was thinner - not so plump and stiff.

Hello, I am the mother of a beautiful little girl who needs her best friend replaced. Her friend is a purple toy stuffed duck from Animal Adventure. I went to their website and was sad to find out that you can not simply order a replacement duck. They only sell to retailers. Please if anyone knows where I can find one.

You see her poor little duck is in bad shape. I actually tried to throw it away and had purchased a yellow duck. She threw it down and actually went and got her duck from the trash.

It has to be exactly the same. I would really appreciate any help. She has had the duck since birth.

I purchased it at Krogers, but have not seen one since 2005, when I bought the original.

Seaching - PUPPY LOVE Vintage Stuffed DOG

My granddaughter was born on November 20th.

I've been searching for "Puppy Love" since the day we found out she was on the way.

My daughter has had her "Puppy Love" on her bed since my mother gave it to her 30 years ago. It's my hope that I can locate one for my granddaughter to love and cherish. She is anxiously awaiting her very own "Puppy Love". I have told her all about him and she is very excited!

He's a bit forlorn looking and has had most of his upper fur pulled out because my daughter used him as a stress reliever and picked it all out. His manufacturers tag is now just a bit of fiber and is completely unreadable.

Searching - EDEN Vintage WHITE FLUFFY BEAR Blue Ribbon

I have been trying to find a site to help locate a desperately missed very first bear purchased immediately upon notice in 1991 of first long-awaited pregnancy. Bless you!

Large Bear by Eden, lays on stomach, cream to white with blue satin ribbon, lost at Ramstein Air Force Base Germany Post Exchange Store (PX) in 1997 (I think). Daughter, although now 15 still yearns for her very first bear that was never out of her site.

It is very soft with semi-long fur and his name is Cuddles. Don't recall if that name was on the tag, or merely given. I researched with Eden many years ago to get a replacement, but after a huge run around for hours, spoke to someone who thought they recalled the bear, but it was no longer purchased. Hoping to have a remake, I have been trying to recontact them, but haven't even been able to pull up an active site again. I still see very soft excellent quality plush animals in stores, but can't locate them any longer or the bear. Please see what you can do if there is anyone out there with help, ideas or most unbeleivably, the original Cuddles if you found it at the Ramstein AFB, Germany PX. Searching - 1977 GUND WHITE LAMB Peach Face

This lamb is about 17 inches long, with white body and peach face, feet and ears. I purchased one for my oldest daughter in 1977 and she loved it. Problem was, her 4-year-old-brother would take it every day while she was at school. Eventually it became "his" lamb.

Then daughter #2 was born and she adopted "Lambie" as soon as she could walk. The lamb is now in tatters and my goal is to find one of these Gund lambs for each of them, (now all adults) as they still talk about their attachments to her. Must be in excellent condition so they each feel they have a new "Lambie."

Searching - Blue Jean Teddy DUCK / Blue & White Night Cap & Pocket

Hello! I am looking for a duckie that my grandson (5) has just worn to pieces. He has had Duckie since birth, and Duckie is like a 3rd child. When he is missing we all go into panic mode until he is found. Anyway, Duckie has been well loved and is literally worn down to the bare fiber.

Duckie is from the Blue Jean Teddy nursery collection and originally he came with a blue and white night cap and a pocket on his chest. Zach was born in Feb. 2002, so I assume that he is from that era of BJT, as my son and his wife bought him at Walmart brand new!

I am looking for a stuffed toy I had when I was a little girl in the 80's. It was called a Jumbo Love, and was made by Commonwealth Toys in 1986.

It was a silky puffy toy sort of like a Puffalump, but bigger with floppy limbs. It had a heart on its chest that said Jumbo Love.

They were available in an orange monkey(this is the one that I had and would love to have again!) blue dog, purple hippo and yellow bear.

FOUND - BATH & BODY RABBIT Wearing SANDALS

I saw this bunny today while I was searching for something else, and thought it might be the same rabbit Caroline was looking for. Getting the excited email back saying she had just bought it, and that I had made her daughter very happy just makes my day!

I'm looking for an Easter bunny from Bath & Body works from this year (2007). My little girl can't function without it, and it's falling apart. It is a white bunny with long legs and has on sandals. It has a blue top with carrots on it and blue shorts with a belt.

Searching - DAKIN BLUE Beanie Type BUNNY RABBIT

I need some assistance in finding my long lost childhood friend.

From my research I believe the maker was Dakin (1982), and it was a blue bean bag plush bunny about 3" long. I think it was one of the original "beany babies" that we know today. I have not been able to locate an exact picture.

Searching - BAH KOO Stuffed Animal

I had many favorite toys as a child, but my brother had only a select few. The one we remember most of all was "Bah Koo," a hybrid of a few different animals. Based on an Asian folk tale, Bah Koo chases away bad dreams. I remember my brother sleeping with him every night and carrying him around, upside down, by his tail.



Unfortunately, when my brother went into the Navy, he cleaned his room rather hastily, and we're afraid he may have inadvertently disposed of poor Bah Koo, or as he liked to call him, "Kooie."

He was originally sold in 1987, as a box set with the book "Bah Koo- Chaser of Bad Dreams: A Bedtime Story," written by Robert Rhodes and illustrated by Gary Patterson.

It's not impossible to find the book these days, but after countless months of searching, I have yet to find the plush toy.

Can anyone help?

Searching - c1979 BIG EYED Beige Lying Down DOG

Could you help me find a duplicate of my lost stuffed animal? She is a dog, although often mistaken for a bunny rabbit due to longish ears. She was acquired circa 1979. She is approx. 15 inches long and is lying on her stomach. She has a black nose and BIG eyes, about 2 inches in diameter, that had crescent shapes of pink and white in them (in addition to black). Her "legs" are short and thick (not long and dangling) Her "arms" are approx. 5 inches. She is a beige/light brown color all over.

FOUND - BEIGE / BROWN Rough Textured (CHENILLE?) DOG

I am looking for a small stuffed dog. We bought it at a gift shop in the Pittsburgh airport in 2006. It looks like a beanie baby dog, but it's not a Ty beanie. It's beige in color, with dark brown ears and dark brown circles around both eyes. It feels like the stuffing is little beans, and the texture is almost rough yarn like. It's definitely not fluffy or plush.

Please help. My daughter is missing it terribly.

We found my little muchkin's doggie!!! She had hid it in a little toy oven that we were giving away and just by pure luck we looked inside, and there it was. FOUND - CARTER'S Just One Year Musical PINK with Purple Flowers BUNNY

*This bunny was run over in traffic, so it may not look exactly like one in better condition.

I am looking for a pink bunny. It is made by Carter's Just One Year. I purchased the bunny in the Spring of 2006. It is about 11 inches tall, pink with purple flowers on it. It has a musical pull on the back.

But wait ... there's more!

*I found ours today on the side of the road by the daycare, but it was extremely dirty and had been run over. But over all, in usable shape, now that it has been washed. He is missing an eye and the head now rattles :( .

I saw one similar to it on eBay this morning - item number 150191936872. It is pink and Carter's with music and flowers on the stomach, but the flowers are pink, not purple, and I don't think the ears are the same. If your child is like mine they know the difference, and I am not sure if it would work.

I am also looking for this Carter's pink bunny rabbit with purple flowers on its body and purple ears and feet. My daughter needs her to sleep - it is her best friend - we named her Roxy. Roxy helps when she is sad or hurt and also is used in tea parties and as a doll in a baby stroller. I have tried so many different ways and times to get a new one for the past year, and have been unsuccessful. If anyone has a one and is willing to sell- we would love it and buy it in a heartbeat!

FOUND - CARTER'S? EDEN? 36 Years OLD Brown Musical GIRAFFE Head Turns

The SELLER (Lisa) of this one on eBay contacted me to let me know she thought this might be the one Shannin was looking for. I thought so, too, so when I couldn't get a reply from Shannin, I bought it for her. I did manage to contact her today, and she is so excited, as it is the one she wanted!

I am looking for a stuffed musical giraffe that was made by Carter's or Eden. It was brown and yellow, and when you wound it up the neck on the giraffe slowly rotated around. FOUND - You're Special CARTER'S WHITE LAMB Wearing GREEN SHIRT

I am looking for a small lamb made by Carter's. My 2 year old son carried it everywhere with him and lost it on vacation. He is doing okay without it, but I would love to be able to replace it for him. He saw a picture of it the other day and has been talking about it ever since. He walks around with the picture (in the picture the lamb is in his Easter basket) telling everyone "I can't get it out of the basket..." It is so sad.

The lamb is white with a light green shirt on it. It has the words "You're Special" embroidered on the front, and there is either a butterfly or a bee as well. It also has a rattle in it. It is probably 8 or 9 inches long.

My five-year-old daughter is broken-hearted over the loss of her best-loved stuffie, Basil the lamb.

We don't know who the manufacturer is. Basil was bought from a Pharmaprix in Montreal (Pharmaprix is the same chain as Shopper's Drug Mart elsewhere) about four years ago.

FOUND - DanDee BROWN & White Floppy MONKEY

We found the monkey Debra has been looking for! I thought you might like to see what he looks like in excellent condition, since the original has seen so much loving.

Searching - Marshall Fields "BEST FRIENDS" GOLDEN RETRIEVER Puppy Dog

HELP!

We lost a GOLDEN BROWN family favorite stuffed dog in a Florida airport in 1996. The dog was originally bought at Marshall Fields in Chicago during Christmastime in about 1994.

We THINK it is a "BEST FRIENDS" brand dog. It came with a purple plaid bow around the neck and a tag with the poem:

"I'm especially soft to hug, so hold me tight and snug! On me you can depend, I'll be your true best friend!"

It was approximately 18" long with floppy ears, a curled tail and curly fur. At the same time, we bought a smaller (approx. 8-10"), but identical dog.

We are not looking for the EXACT dog that we owned, but for the past couple of years we have been looking for a similar animal. At the time, Marshall Fields sold these dogs in 3 sizes (the largest MAYBE about 3' long) and in 2 colors (golden and white).'
