Searching - TARGET White DOG BLUE HALF FACE

Blue Puppy, a beloved member of our family, was lost while running errands. We have retraced our footsteps, called every store we visited, turned the house and car upside down, and we have not found him. He is an integral part of the family. My son has fallen asleep with him tucked under his arm since he was 18 months old.

I bought Blue Puppy from Target, sometime in the late spring/early summer of 2006. I looked for a duplicate a few months later, just to have an extra on hand since my son loved him so much. I called Target customer service when I couldn't find one in the store, and I was told that that particular puppy was no longer being produced.

Now we need one, and I still can't find one anywhere. I've looked on eBay and found one old auction, I've posted a want ad on Craigslist, asked around, and nobody has a Blue Puppy.

Please please help! I am in desperate need of a replacement! My son has been in tears. I desperately want to find a new Blue Puppy for him to love.

Searching - Long Legged WHITE RABBIT with BIG FEET Close Set Eyes

My daughter has not let go of her bunny in two years and we are always losing it...I've gone back and searched an entire zoo!

She cannot live without this bunny. When she sleeps she drapes it over her shoulder. During the day bunny goes everywhere with her. If she leaves it somewhere and can't find it, she has a meltdown without it and cannot go to sleep. If I could find a way to attach bunny to her permanently I would, but it would be better if I could find another one in case she loses this one and it can't be found.

After returning from the zoo, we found bunny didn't make the trek home, so I had to drive all the way back to the zoo and hunt everywhere for it. It was finally turned in by someone hours later, while she just screamed the whole time.

It's quite stressful actually to always keep track of this bunny. My son has a matching teddy which was given to him by a different person than the bunny to my daughter, and neither person has any idea where they purchased them. Bunny is now so dirty even going through the laundry doesn't make him look better, and he really needs replacing. If you have any idea how to get another one, I'd be very grateful.

Bunny is about a foot long from head to toe, not counting the ears.

Searching - Tree Top Toys KOALA BEAR with Black Eye Patch BLANKIE

We are searching for a replacement for "Blobbly". It is light blue, satin on 1 side and fleece on the other, and only about 12in x 12in. Blobbly has a flat koala head with a black patch over 1 eye at one corner and 2 little arms. It was originally purchased in 2004, I believe at Tree Top Toys.

He was given to my son, Ryan, as a baby present in the hospital when he was born. Ryan just adores him.

He used to take Blobbly everywhere, and he can't go to sleep unless he is snuggled with Blobbly. He used to lay the smooth satin side over his feet when he slept. As Blobbly got more and more frayed, he stopped taking him to daycare to snuggle with at naptime. He left him at home to help "keep him safe" so he would last longer.

He has been dealing with Blobbly getting older, until last night, when the stuffing fell out of its little paw. He began sobbing that Blobbly was falling apart, and soon he wasn't going to have him anymore.

Searching - PINK GIRAFFE BLANKIE Moon on Cloud

Wouldn't you know it? Jennifer wrote to say she needs this blankie, too ... and her tag is missing as well. So we still don't know what brand it is!

My daughter was given this giraffe lovey blanket as an infant and it is by far her most favorite thing.

It is pink and white, with the giraffe head and arms on one corner. There is a cloud with a yellow moon applique on the blankie, with two blue stars on either side.

The poor giraffe is dying a slow death, and I need to replace her. But because I am a dork I CUT THE TAG off. So, I have no idea the brand or maker of this giraffe.

Searching - Carter's KIDS PREFERRED BLUE ELEPHANT with PINK HEARTS on YELLOW PAWS

I am looking for a baby blue elephant made by Kids Preferred (a Carter's brand). He has yellow paws with pink hearts on the paws. I believe it was a Kohl's Cares for Kids animal. I received it in December, 2006 as a gift.

My son Nolan is so attached to him that he is beginning to fall apart and smell! I am looking for the same one, so I can replace him once he falls apart completely, as well as have a backup to avoid a catastrophe if Ellie becomes lost. My son is a great sleeper because of "Ellie", as he cannot wait to go in his crib to get him.

I have called the manufacturer and looked on EVERY website. Please let me know if you can help.

Searching - KIDS II You Are My Sunshine RAE Musical PRESS Rabbit

Hello. I am looking for a Kids II stuffed bunny named RAE. She has a sun in her hands and sings, "You Are My Sunshine." . I believe you press on the sun to hear the music.

My daughter Echo has had it since she was little. She was a very sick baby, and Rae went with her everywhere. FOUND - Carter's Just One Year BUNNY with HEARTS ON TUMMY & PURPLE EARS with RATTLE

Marcy's husband found one on eBay!

I am looking for a Carter's First Year Bunny that is white, has multi-colored hearts, lavender ears & paws and a rattle inside. I bought it at Target January, 2007. I think they had one after that w/o the rattle, which is also acceptable. (Marcy has decided to wait for the rattle one and try to get Andi to accept a different lovie in the meantime.)

My husband and I adopted our twins (Alexander and Andi) from Guatemala. I sent this bunny down for Andi when she was 2 months old and requested that I get it back when we picked them up. They've been home for a year now (they're 19 months old), and she has not let that bunny out of her sight since.

I need to find a replacement before it falls apart. I had no idea Carter's changed them out, or I would have bought more at the time. I've been searching on eBay, but haven't seen this exact one.

What It FEELS LIKE to SEARCH for a Lost Lovie & to HELP SOMEONE ELSE FIND THEIRS

I was teasing Liza about being such a busy lady while I was thanking her for spending so much time searching for other people's lost lovies, and this was her response:

I have been busy! It really has gotten to me - I mean, it's not only affected my daughter, but I'm just as saddened at losing her Poppy.

I can really feel for both parents and kids whose lives - although others can't see why - really DO get turned upside down when kids lose their loveys. It becomes days and then weeks of this all-consuming desire to both comfort your child, while at the same time beginning the daunting undertaking of finding a replacement.

Helping that man find a replacement for his daughter's bear yesterday made me feel so good. At least I helped one little girl - even if it wasn't my own. I figured, today, since I had a really light day here at work and some free time, I could at least take one day and devote it to looking for lost loveys. Some parents may not have the luxury of free hours to devote to searching.

Hopefully, I was able to help someone else. I hope I did. Again, it makes me feel a little better knowing that losing Poppy, as cheesy as it sounds, wasn't in vain since I ended up helping someone else.

Now back to searching for Poppy!!!!!!!

Searching - PUFFALUMP BIG THINGS Teal DINOSAUR Yellow Horns Red Feet Purple Hair

My best friend used to have this "creature" when he was younger, and it was his best friend. It was his safety blanket and his childhood toy( you know the kind you never want to give up.) When they moved from one house to another, the creature got lost. I have been looking for this creature for months now, ever since he has told me this story. He was heart broken when he found his old one all ruined.

So I went looking for a replacement. I know it won't be the same memories and such, but it will still be something to show off to all the people the remember him with the toy.

His Fisher Price Puffalump Monster Dinosaur is one of the Big Things series, No. 6861. It is teal, with the two yellow horns, red feet, and purple fluffy hair on the top.

Searching - JOLLLY BABY Purple HIPPO

Hello, I came across your site while trying to search for my five year old daughter's lovie, which is a Jollybaby purple Jolly hippo about 30cm (about 12") long. She has had him since birth, and I even have a before and after photo of the poor thing who is looking very sad.

I have sewn him up many times, but is just about fallen apart now. I have contacted the company, but as he is so old he is out of stock now. And I have also searched every site I can think of online, but am out of ideas. I even put an ad in the newspaper searching for a second hand one, but had no luck. Searching - 90'S DAKIN Dark Blue ELEPHANT BLANKIE Named JUNO

Thanks to Kar sending me to a listing of 80's Childhood, a very nice seller on eBay, I was able to show a good photo of this elephant, instead of the very much loved one Tina sent me, with the replaced eyes and trunk.

My son was given a dark blue DAKIN lovie when he was born by his Nani. Nani had purchased the lovie probably 15 years prior. (It took me awhile to have a baby...ha, ha) Anyways, Noki (as he calls it) is at his wits end. The eyes are sewn and the color is dark blue, unlike the "new" Tuscany Elephant lovie by Dakin/Applause.

The manufacturer's name of the elephant is Juno. He looks just like the Tuscany one, but has sewn on eyes and the nose has been replaced because he loved it off.

Searching - DUCK DUCK Childhood Lovie

I have this stuffed animal duck duck from around the 1980s. My beloved stuffed duck is named duck duck and she's my oldest treasure. However, early this week she was taken apart by my puppies and I'm looking for a clone of her to use to put her back together.

She originally had winglike arms. She had a pink and white checkered bow that matched her pink and white checkered jumper/skirt thing.

She's my childhood in a nut shell and she deserves to be in her original fabric and stuff. I simply need another one and I have no idea where she came from, who made her, or anything. Can you help me?

In case anyone else needs this TY monkey, his name is Digits and there were several on eBay not long ago.

This is Louis. When my autistic son went to boarding school, he was going through a rough time. Being away from home was not what he wanted.

My mother told him she would send him (from Venezuela) a roommate, a friend to go to school with, and I got this monkey from a Hallmark store here in NYC, and we pretended she sent it. She named him after my brother, who is the clown in the family.

The bad day and ended up pulling Louis' legs off. I doubt I can fix it. I would rather try to get him another one. Actually, I should get a couple of them, however I can't find him anywhere. He is around 18 inches long from head to toes and comes naked (no sweater) not just for my son, but for his now ex-roommate that feels very bad every time he sees him and just keeps apologizing.

We told him we'll send Louis to the shop to be fixed, so I need you to please keep and eye for me on any Hallmark store in your area and of course I will pay for Louis and shipping, BTW I don't have a serial # or anything because he was supposed to come from Venezuela, so I removed the tag before boxing it for him.

Searching - Eden BLUE YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE ELEPHANT

My fiance, Mary, told me the story of her "Ella" a while ago. We are getting married in August, and as a wedding day present I would love to have a like new version for her. I will try to get her to tell me the whole story again, so I can send you more details.

It is something like this.

She adopted Ella when she was about 1-2 yrs old. It belonged to her brother first, but was never played with. I guess she found her and just never let her go. This was almost 24 years ago. She has never gone any where with out her and she is now loved into a very used condition. I will send some pictures. She has had some surgery throughout the years too. No more music box and she is stuffed with baby pajamas by her grandmother.

While I was deployed to Iraq, I left my Teddy bear (1981 Gund named Macintosh) with Mary.
I have had him since I was 3, and I have loved him into a very used condition also. Mary took great comfort seeing Mac and Ella together. She took strength in their friendship and kept them both close throughout our 15 months apart.

I searched for a blue version of Ella for hours on-line. I found the picture from you. When I showed it to her she squealed in delight and it is now her desk top background. She giggles and smiles every time she sees the picture.

A Parent's Nightmare - How to Prevent Dealing with a Grieving Child Who Has Lost Their Lovie!

After years of helping frantic families desperately trying to find their child's lost lovie, I think I can give some knowledgeable suggestions to all you parents and grandparents.

First of all, If you realize that a toy is becoming very important to your child, it's time to start trying right then to get several duplicates, while they can still be found. Carter's, for instance, makes a new variation of their toys every 6 months. That's plenty enough time for your precious baby to pick out one particularly important toy as their security lovie and then have trouble finding a duplicate. Sometimes these lovies are blankies, but not always. Many babies become used to going to sleep to the music of a pull down crib toy. All kinds of super soft baby toys become "REAL".

So what can you do??

First of all, buy at least 3 backup lovies as soon as you are sure that is THE one for your child. Then, we would suggest that you alternate all of them so you don't end up trying to replace a raggedy lovey with his brand new cousin. Some parents have gone to the extreme to buy a new one and make it as "good as old," by dragging it through the dirt, smushing it, and running it through the washing machine several times.

While you still have a good one, take lots of photos of the toy close up. Show the tag, too, so you will know the brand information long after the tush tag has faded or been chewed off. Make sure you use a plain dark background for a light toy or a light background for a dark toy. Sometimes it is important to know where it was bought, or if it was won from one of those vending machines.

Of course you will want photos of your child with this important member of the family for your own photo albums. But I personally discourage displaying photos of your child with the toy on the Internet. We edit out the child as best we can on our Lost Toy Search Service posts.

Some parents put a phone number on the tush tag in laundry ink, but more put the child's name on the tag. With security issues concerning children and pedophiles becoming more and more a problem, I can't endorse putting your child's name on the tag, and certainly not their full name.

What do you do if you did not buy any backups, and now the lovie is in shreds? Take a photo of it, again paying attention to using the best background for the lovie. Check on eBay for a backup, but also add your request to the Want It Now section of eBay. If it has been lost, and the only photos of it are with your child, we will edit your child out of the photo as much as possible.

Be sure to send your request for help to our Plush Memories Lost Toy Search Service blog. We have been featured on msnbc.com, so we get a lot of traffic. The more eyes who see your request for help , the odds improve in your favor that someone will find it for you. And we have lots of satisfied families whom we have helped who search for requested toys as a way of paying me back for helping them find their lost lovie.

There are a few other places on the Internet that you can post a brief request, but most of those limit how much you can say and do not have any way of showing your photos. As far as I can tell, we have the best place to ask for help finding that lost toy. OK, so I'm just a wee tad prejudiced about that. LOL!!

Searching - CUDDLE ZONE BIG NOSE WHITE LAMB Please Help This Family!!

Hi! I was so happy to find your website. I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me find a very special stuffed lamb.

He was bought at Target around September 2006. The tag on his ear said Cuddle Zone and 9 inch round lamb. He is very soft and cute with a big nose =)

He is very special to me because my husband and I bought this when I was pregnant...unfortunately our baby passed away when he was just 5 days old, and his lamby was buried with him.

I would really like one like it for me to have kind of in remembrance...I've looked all over at Targets and eBay and can't seem to find him. They still have Cuddle Zone at Target but they changed the types of animals.

I appreciate any help I receive in how I could find one like him!!!

Searching - DanDee LAVENDER BUNNY Colectors Choice

I'm trying to find an Easter plush bunny that my daughter got at 4 months old. She is now about to turn 3 and loves this bunny, but it is falling apart. I can't seem to find another one like it.

It's made by Dan Dee Collecter's Choice. It's a white bunny with a purple suit sewn onto it with a little pink bunny on it. If you can help me find one that would be great.

Searching - BLUE Lion MY FIRST FRIEND Rattle

This appears to be the same lion in pink. She is looking for the BLUE ONE.

My son has had Mr. Lion since he was 2 months old. He received the stuffed animal in 2002 from a friend of mine- who cannot remember where she got it. He is now 5, and Mr. Lion is in really bad shape. He keeps asking me to go to the store and get another one. I have tried to explain to him that mommy cannot find another one. I have searched all over the internet and ebay with no luck.

He did have a beige body and a blue mane. He had a rattle inside and little beads. I would say he was a velour type material. My Mother in law has since sewn him a wrap for his body- which you will see in the picture- because all of his stuffing is falling out from the various holes in his body.

There was a tag on him that said something like My First or First with the letters ABC's. One of our readers has added the information that the tag on his tush does NOT say ABC. The top block is a heart, left bottom block says "my", and the bottom right block says "1st".

Another parent has added this information:My daughter has a pink cat with the same block patch on its bottom. The tag says, "2001 Commonwealth Toy & Novelty Co, Inc. New York, NY-Bunde, The Netherlands.

I think it was bought in Macy's, but I'm not sure. It would have been bought in Feb 2006. Hope this helps.

FOUND - Carter's PINK LADYBUG

SHELLIE FOUND THE PINK LADYBUG ON AUCTION ON EBAY! But that's not the end of the story!

We received this email today, August 15th.

My husband and I are looking for the same ladybug (we decided not to bid on the one on eBay, because we felt so bad for Shellie's daughter), and we're wondering if you had been contacted by anyone else who may have one of these hard-to-come-by little guys?

My daughter lost her favorite stuffed toy. It was a pink ladybug wind up. I think it played "Twinkle
Twinkle Little Star." It was made by Carter's, and I purchased it from Target in 2003.
