Searching - CARTER'S Fluffy Friends YELLOW ELEPHANT with BLUE EARS

I've been looking for a Carter's Fluffy Friends elephant. He's Yellow with blue ears. I've found an all blue one, but, I need a yellow and blue one.

It is my granddaughter's favorite animal. She sleeps with him and a puppy lovie. The elephant is the ultimate favorite. We just want to be sure when he falls apart we have another one to take it's place. He goes swimming with her whether he wants to or not....goes to the "potty"......falls in mud puddles....etc. He's her "booboo" buddy too. He seems to heal everything.

If you could please find me one, this Grandma will be absolutely grateful.

Searching - TARGET White DOG BLUE HALF FACE

Blue Puppy, a beloved member of our family, was lost while running errands. We have retraced our footsteps, called every store we visited, turned the house and car upside down, and we have not found him. He is an integral part of the family. My son has fallen asleep with him tucked under his arm since he was 18 months old.

I bought Blue Puppy from Target, sometime in the late spring/early summer of 2006. I looked for a duplicate a few months later, just to have an extra on hand since my son loved him so much. I called Target customer service when I couldn't find one in the store, and I was told that that particular puppy was no longer being produced.

Now we need one, and I still can't find one anywhere. I've looked on eBay and found one old auction, I've posted a want ad on Craigslist, asked around, and nobody has a Blue Puppy.

Please please help! I am in desperate need of a replacement! My son has been in tears. I desperately want to find a new Blue Puppy for him to love.

Searching - BROWN and WHITE Beanie Type TERRY DOG

I am desperately seeking a small terry cloth brown and white dog. It is about 6 inches tall, and is full of "beanie baby" like filling. It has a little blue bow on its neck. He was made by a "no name" manufacturer and purchased at TJ Maxx in Cedar Rapids in March of 2003.

My 5 year old daughter lost Rufus about 1 1/2 years ago. He was given to her the day she was born, and we really need to find him. It would make my daughter so happy if "Rufus" were to come back. We were so protective and careful of this one toy, it's been horrible for her to not be able to find him. We never thought that almost 2 years later, she still cries for him.

My son has lost his brown plush dog (it has 2 red hearts that cross over on the left ear). I do not know the name of the maker. But I am desperate to retrieve another one and would soooo appreciate your help.

FOUND - CARTER'S MY BEST FRIEND Blue Puppy Blankie KNOTTED CORNERS

Shanyn's very excited to report that the last eBay item link I sent her was the correct one. That just leaves Jenny, but I do not have any way to contact her. I'll leave this as Searching, but only for awhile. If I don't hear from Jenny soon I will mark this one as closed, so our helpful searchers won't be wasting their time.

I'm looking for a Carter's My Best Friend Puppy Rattle/Blanket. It's blue and says My Best Friend on the blanket part and also has knotted corners. I received it at a baby shower in Dec 2006.

My son loves it! He chews on the knotted corners and sleeps with it every night. I'm looking for a back-up, in case ours gets lost, & also to give him when I'm washing the first one (he takes it outside with him.. haha). I saw where someone found one on your site (3/28/08) and was hoping someone out there had another one! I've only found 1 on eBay so far.

I too was looking for this and ended up buying 2 musical ones and 1 not musical. My son actually prefers the musical one now. Anyway, I got the little one at the Carter Outlet Store in Las Vegas and there was still one available. Also there was one available in California.

I am looking for this Carter's plush puppy that is actually already listed on this site. If you could help me find this it would be great. I have spent countless hours looking for one. The one that my son has is falling apart and he can't do ANYTHING without it.

Also, I don't know if that posting is for the musical one or not. We need the one that does NOT play music.

FOUND - PINK PUPPY Lost in Hospital HELP!!!!!!!

July 2, 2008 - I thought you might like to hear an update on Avey's condition. Amy writes:

She’s doing MUCH better – out of the hospital and just taking some more meds. I so appreciate you checking in on her!

I spotted Jay while searching for a different pink puppy. Hers is a Baby GUND My First Puppy, in case anyone else needs to search for this dog.

Jay goes everywhere with Avey. He’s been to the park, to the grocery store and, very recently, and to the Starlite office (where two real-life puppies almost gave Jay a trip directly to Puppy Heaven).

Anyway, when the nurses came to change the sheets on Avey’s hospital bed last night, they apparently rolled Jay up and took him off to The Place Dirty Hospital Sheets Go...

Avey has been told that Jay is taking a ride through the hospital to visit all the other sick little girls and boys...

Searching - RUSS Nizzy PINK Spotted DOG Pink & Yellow Ribbon

'I am looking desperately for a Russ Berrie Pink Plush Rattle toy named Nizzy.

My two-year old is totally attached to her Nizzy. She chews on it when she's upset, before and during her naps, and at night. Therefore, it needs washed on temperature boost every-other day. It is rapidly deteriorating. It's also scary because we take it everywhere we go. We don't take it into businesses. We tell her Nizzy has to stay in the car because he doesn't want to get lost or dirty, but it's still scary. Please help.

Searching - GYMBOREE BLUE DOG Petit Chien

THE DOG DID NOT COME WITH THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

We are desperately searching for our lost blue puppy named Little Pup or "LP" for short. We bought her in February 2000, at a Gymboree store and have recently found that she is from the 1999 Gymboree line called "Petit Chien" (guess SHE is actually a HE).

We bought LP for our daughter-to-be (my husband had a special blue puppy when he was little), but the puppy soon became beloved by the whole family. LP has disappeared from time to time, but she has always shown up within a day or so.

In August of 2007 we lost her again, only this time she has not returned. So, we are turning to the Lost Toys Search Service for help locating a replacement -- we are certain her soul will transfer to her new body! Here is a photo of her dressed in her holiday finest...The Case family would be so so grateful for any help in locating our Petit Chien!

Searcing - GALOOB Sitting ST. BERNARD Red Tongue Barrel?

I am looking for a stuffed St. Bernard dog made by Galoob in the early 80's. It stands approx. 12-15" tall and sits on it back end. I think it had a barrel around its neck, and it had a red tongue.

Searching - 60's? 70's? Lying Down BROWN DOG Wind Up Musical

I am looking for a brown plush puppy. It is a wind-up musical dog in a laying down position. I had one in the mid '70's, but don't know when it was made. It was a tannish brown furry material. I am looking for a stuffed dog I had as a little girl in the mid-1970s. It was standing up, like a person, and was rust orange with long floppy ears and a brown corduroy body made to look like a jumpsuit. I believe it had three buttons down the front. Sounds kind of ugly, but he was my lovey and I just got a puppy that I named after him, Fuzzy Howard...my name for him, not the manufacturer. This led me to you in my search to find him.

I have searched and can't find a thing that sounds like what they need. Hopefully, one of you will be more successful in finding this destroyed lovie. This picture is my attempt to show something like what they are looking for.

We are looking for a baby toy that is a yellow dog with 3 stuffed rings around his body (red,green, blue). It was my son's favorite and our dog chewed it. We are desperate. It might be a Kids ll toy, but I'm not sure, as my older son threw it out. So we don't have the tag.

I cannot believe we could not find a picture!!! We have looked all through the albums with no luck! I guess it is because he only sleeps with it.

The colors are all bright primary colors, except for a light blue ring on his body (the others are red and green). He was given to our son in 1997. His body is long to fit the 3 rings (like a dachshund). He was very velvety soft - like velour.

Searching - 80's Seated Brown Floppy Eared PUPPY Dog with RAINBOW PATCH

Obviously this is my attempt to show something of what Melissa's Puppy looked like.

I have a stuffed animal that I received as a gift when I was born, which was in 1985. He is in a sort of sitting position like most stuffed animals and has long floppy ears like a rabbit, but looks like a dog. He had a rainbow patch on his stomach, but mine has been chewed up by animals a few times so my Mother had to replace it with a heart patch.

I slept with him every single night and called him "Puppy". I always liked the feel of his ears and was constantly rubbing them. I rubbed his ears so much that he doesn't have ears left. He has glass black eyes and a oval nose. This stuffed animal means a lot to me, and I would love to find another one, so I could have one for my 19 month old daughter.

Hi, We recently moved to Egypt and brought Sweet Puppy, our son's Carter's Dog Gone Cute plush dog, with us. Sweet Puppy got left in a taxi last week.

Searching - Make Your Own BROWN & WHITE DOG Zipper in Back

I am looking for a replacement for my daughter's lovey. It is a soft stuffed brown and white puppy dog. It was bought for her at one of those local build your own bear (not Build-a-Bear) stores, so it is not a name brand, i.e. Carter's. There is not even a tag on him.

"Pepper" was purchased at the Aspen Bear Company in Midland, TX in December of 2005. They have since closed. He is smooth coated but very soft and floppy. He has a zipper in the back where the stuffing was put in.

This is the most important part of Pepper, as my daughter plays with it while she falls asleep. He is stuffed with all batting, no beads or beans (I'm not sure what they are called).

My daughter received this when she was 6 months old and has not slept a night without him since. We have already had to replace her "woobie" (blanket) and I'd like to have a puppy as similar as possible on hand in case an "emergency" replacement is needed for Pepper as well.

FOUND - Carter's MY BEST FRIEND BLUE DOG BLANKIE

One of our readers wrote to tell me she had two of these blankies that her child was not interested in, and she sent them off to Susan without charge! This is exactly what I had hoped would happen when I started this Search Service two years ago. Thanks, Jeanine!!!!

We have lost a Carter's baby blue dog head blanket rattle. It has a blue patch over one eye and the words My Best Friend embroidered on it with a brown paw. My son doesn't go anywhere without it. Please help us find one.

FOUND - Kid's Preferred BLUE & WHITE PUPPY DOG with Baseball Style STITCHING

Hi! I am looking for a plush blue puppy dog with a white tummy and patch around his eye. It also has white "baseball" stitching.

I think it was sold at Wal-Mart. We got it as a shower gift in February, 2006. My son is in LOVE with this "baby", and the dog is starting to look really worn. I'd love to find one now before he falls to pieces!!

FOUND - Wal-Mart Large BROWN CHENILLE DOG with WHITE on FACE

My little girl lost her beloved stuffed bear/dog in a move. We have searched and called everywhere. I am really hoping that someone has one. It was purchased from Wal-mart in November/December of 2004.

One picture shows a little better what it looked like new, which hopefully someone has. The one that is more tattered looking is a picture from right before we lost it. It has been a few months now and she still cries 2-3 times a week for it. My husband and I have tried everything. I would be so happy if this works.

Searching - "I AM YOUR LITTLE RASCAL" Large or Small DOG

One of our very helpful readers sent me this today. I am writing regarding the dog - I'm Your Little Rascal -- Here is a photo of the large one. He is wearing a green shirt (Desmond is looking for one with an ORANGE SHIRT.) He is the large one - about 12-13 inches I would say - no beans. I sold him in December - for I think $75.00 to a lady who was buying him as a Christmas gift for her boyfriend. It seems like it was Dakin or Russ -- I just don't remember which. I'm leaning towards Dakin.

I am looking for a stuffed dog from the 80's. I had two sizes of this dog. The smaller size one has a beanie body while the bigger one doesn't. It is orange brown in color with dark brown flappy ears.

It has oval plastic eyes, and the nose is sewn in thread. The big one wears an orange shirt which say "I am your little rascal", while for the smaller sized one the shirt is actually part of the body, sewn together.

Both sizes of dogs are in a sitting up right position with the hands and legs outstretched.

Does anyone has any idea what is the name of this dog and where can I still buy it now?

FOUND - Carter's Just One Year BRAHMS' LULLABY Blue Crib Dog with SPOTS

Hi, I am hoping that someone can help me find my 20 month old son's ''bear''. It is actually a blue puppy musical crib toy made by "Just one year" by Carter's. I bought it in late 05/06 at Target, and he's had it since he was born.

He still has one, and it's in OK condition, but its musical pull handle broke off, and after being washed, it no longer plays music...which is what helps him sleep. The other problem is, there are TWO versions of this bear. One plays Brahms Lullaby, which is what we need (the other plays Rock a Bye Baby, I think).


If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Searching - GUND Large PINK PUPPY DOG with HEART HANGING from his NECK

I am looking for a stuffed pink dog for my daughter Danielle. She discovered this "pink puppy" in the grocery store around Valentine's Day while we were waiting for her prescription to be filled - she was sick with the croup right before she turned one year old. (So this would have been Valentine's Day 2005.)

The pink puppy is made by GUND - in their HEADS and TALES division (the puppy has both these tags on him). The puppy stands up and has a large heart that hangs from his neck (even though ours was lost!).

I had to do quite a bit of editing to get this photo, so the actual toy may not look just like this.

I am looking for a kind of small hot pink puppy? chimp? monkey? with a white face and chest and a hot pink nose. My daughter got the puppy from a vending machine, so it must be relatively inexpensive. She is missing it terribly after we lost the puppy on a flight, and I would be happy for ANY lead.

Searching - 70's or 80's BROWN HOBO DOG - CLEM????

I saw your website and I thought I would email you and ask you if you possibly know of a toy that I am in search of. You look like just the people who can help me. I don’t know what the toy is called, neither do I know who made it. All I know is that the toy was made sometime in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s.

It’s a stuffed dog who was dressed like a hobo. He had bib overalls with patches and possibly a hat. He was brown and had a black nose, but the nose was not plastic, just fabric. For a mouth he had two strings sewn on the snout. He had an apple or a strawberry patch on the left side of the bib of the overalls.

If you have heard of such a toy or even know what it was called, please let me know. I would really like to find this item!

Searching - Skeeter NOT TY Cream Stuffed Dog with BROWN EARS, EYE, & SPOT on BACK

I'm looking for a little stuffed dog that has been with me and my girlfriend through thick and thin the last years. We both worked and were going to school 4 nights a week. At times we got pretty miserable, but this little guy was always able to help me cheer her up and vice versa.

He has also traveled everywhere with us. We both had a really bad feeling before our last trip out of the country and debated whether or not to bring him. Unfortunately our instincts were right, and he disappeared. We can't figure out how. He was there one second and then gone.

We knew we were attached to him, but were floored by how much it affected us. There were and still are tears - and we're in our 30's! All the people at the hotel, and the airport have been really helpful and understand where we are coming from. But, he hasn't turned up. We're heart broken.


We'd love to find a replacement and then, and I know this sounds absolutely crazy, hire a spirit channeler to help us collect his energy from the ether and transmit it into his new body. Hey, we live in California so something like that is perfectly normal around these parts :)

I have many pictures, his name tag read "Skeeter" but he wasn't the Ty Classic Skeeter. He was made by another company whose name I can't remember. He was purchased in early 2001.

I really hope that you can help us out. We got through some pretty crazy patches with his help. We really want to have those memories of where we've been and how we made it through, and, of course, we want him to be part of our lives going forward.

My granddaughter was born on November 20th.

I've been searching for "Puppy Love" since the day we found out she was on the way.

My daughter has had her "Puppy Love" on her bed since my mother gave it to her 30 years ago. It's my hope that I can locate one for my granddaughter to love and cherish. She is anxiously awaiting her very own "Puppy Love". I have told her all about him and she is very excited!

He's a bit forlorn looking and has had most of his upper fur pulled out because my daughter used him as a stress reliever and picked it all out. His manufacturers tag is now just a bit of fiber and is completely unreadable.

Searching - c1979 BIG EYED Beige Lying Down DOG

Could you help me find a duplicate of my lost stuffed animal? She is a dog, although often mistaken for a bunny rabbit due to longish ears. She was acquired circa 1979. She is approx. 15 inches long and is lying on her stomach. She has a black nose and BIG eyes, about 2 inches in diameter, that had crescent shapes of pink and white in them (in addition to black). FOUND - BEIGE / BROWN Rough Textured (CHENILLE?) DOG

I am looking for a small stuffed dog. We bought it at a gift shop in the Pittsburgh airport in 2006. It looks like a beanie baby dog, but it's not a Ty beanie. It's beige in color, with dark brown ears and dark brown circles around both eyes. It feels like the stuffing is little beans, and the texture is almost rough yarn like. My son, who was 2 in November, lost his most treasured friend. My husband won a dark brown dog/wolf with blue eyes back in Jan 2006 (we believe) & it since has been our son's favorite. He calls him Wolfie. He looks like a dog & wolf. He's really adorable. We have searched & searched for another one like him. We even put 2 lost ads in the papers in hopes someone found him.

We lost him not long ago, and my son has not stopped looking for him. He has been having a hard time falling asleep at night without his doggie. We have a lot of other stuffed animals, and it just doesn't do it for him.

Searching - Marshall Fields "BEST FRIENDS" GOLDEN RETRIEVER Puppy Dog

HELP!

We lost a GOLDEN BROWN family favorite stuffed dog in a Florida airport in 1996. The dog was originally bought at Marshall Fields in Chicago during Christmastime in about 1994.

We THINK it is a "BEST FRIENDS" brand dog. It came with a purple plaid bow around the neck and a tag with the poem:

"I'm especially soft to hug, so hold me tight and snug! On me you can depend, I'll be your true best friend!"

It was approximately 18" long with floppy ears, a curled tail and curly fur. At the same time, we bought a smaller (approx. 8-10"), but identical dog.

We are not looking for the EXACT dog that we owned, but for the past couple of years we have been looking for a similar animal. At the time, Marshall Fields sold these dogs in 3 sizes (the largest MAYBE about 3' long) and in 2 colors (golden and white).'

Searching - DAKIN DROOPER ORANGE DOG - puppy chewed it up

My dad gave my mom an orange dog back in the early to mid 70's. "Orange Dog" was given to me as a baby in 77. "OD" was chewed up by my dog when she was a puppy. All I have left is an orange shell, full of holes.

One of our wonderfully helpful readers, Cat Jane, emailed me to tell me that Orange Dog is a DAKIN DROOPER. I emailed Kelley to be sure, and she says it's the right dog. The photo I have added was for a smaller version of the same OD.

Description: Orange Dog is a little less than 12 inches long. His head was stuffed firmly and the rest of his body and individual feet had a bean like material nut shells in them (brown square like mini granules, unlike the white/clear circle ones today). His ears are brown and eyes were plastic and almost human like. I believe he had a ball like nose, though I apparently chewed it off as a baby.

My dad remembers buying Orange Dog in Chicago on his way home from a business trip anywhere in the time frame of 1972-1975 ish.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....I'd love to repair my destroyed orange dog, or have another to pass along to my children.

FOUND - BINGO a Very Special Request PLEASE READ

We have been searching for Bingo Look-alikes every time we went on our toy hunts, and we managed to find 3 very similar puppy dogs. Melissa was nice enough to send me a photo of her children each holding the doggy they have each chosen as their own Bingo. I have chosen not to put their photos on this post, but I really appreciate her sending them to us.

This was a very unusual request for our blog, as we normally are trying to find lovies under much different circumstances. We are honored to have been able to help this grieving family.

Our four year old son drowned last summer and he had a favorite puppy named BINGO. I have found one on Ebay and purchased it, so we can send it to a memorial company to have a statue made. But three of our other children want replica's of Bingo for themselves. I am unable to let them keep Joshua's real Bingo.

Therefore, I am searching for a stuffed puppy that is approx. 12 inches long and was purchased at a Wal-mart store in 2001. The tag reads "Marketed by Wal-Mart Stores Inc." and has the # "PA-7575(KR)" on the bottom of it. The puppy comes in different colors, ie. brown, grey,... and has a leopard print collar. I don't care what color we can find, I would just like to purchase three more BINGO's.

It's just a childhood memory. The book told a story about the dog. It may have been late 50's or early 60's. I can't even tell you if it was a Golden Book. Can't Find that Old Stuffed Lovey?? Susan Can RE-CREATE It!!

While I was doing some research, trying to help a reader find a toy from the early 50's, I decided to try to find an artist who could make the plush toy he needed to order. I was very glad to find Susan's Sew-Nique, and I have an idea there are several more people who have left requests for old toys on this blog who would be interested in talking to Susan about bringing a much loved memory from childhood back to life, such as this one. (Click on the picture to read all about this reunion.)



So, I wrote her to get an idea of how much she charges generally for making something from a photo. Please don't hold her to these exact prices if you decide to do business with her, as she obviously has a lot of talent, and deserves to be properly compensated for her materials and skill.

Here's her reply:

Hi Rosemary! Have you checked out the "Special Orders" page of my website?

There are a few examples on it of the type of "recreated" dolls and animals I have done in the last four years (since going on the internet). The "Santa Mouse" was one that you won't see posted on the "Stuffed Animals" page...it was very hard to recreate. I think I charged under $30 for that one.The "Boo-Boo" dog was around $30 also. And the yellow "chick" (or duck?) was about $20.

I can not copy certain patented items and then post them on my website - such as the original Raggedy Ann and Andy, Disney characters, or even Gund or other toy makers. But I will work with the customer to make a similar product, though there will be no photos of my finished product on the website.

My prices vary from $10 to as much as $40. Much of the pricing is based on whether I have a pattern similar in design to what is needed, or if I have to start with pencil and graph paper and design it, then make a muslin "dummy", and then cut in to the expensive fake fur fabric (which can go as high as $60/yard).

I am always delighted to give a price estimate if anyone would like to email me a photo (jpeg file). When they send the photo, it saves time if they can give as many details as possible, such as the size of the item, fabric types, etc.

But I will emphasize that I sometimes have a work schedule out as far as 12 weeks. Right now, it is between 6 and 8 weeks. And a couple other "notes": I only set a "special order" item on my work schedule after I have a deposit of 50% (in other words, first come, first served). When the toy is for a child, I also like to mention that the toy might not be "accepted" as a substitute no matter how close the copy looks. (And this can be important for 'special needs children'.) The texture, stuffing and even the smell can make a difference to a discerning end user. I cannot guarantee acceptance, only a near look-alike. So far, that has not been a problem. Sometimes I have to ask for a lot of details, but it gets the job done.

FOUND??? - Carter's Prestige BLUE SPOTTED Puppy? Bear? Mouse?? NOT SURE!

Readers have sent me links, I have tried to email parents, but it doesn't do any good to post that you need one, if you do it Anonymously. I don't have any way of letting you know that one is available, if you do that!

I'm trying to find a plush "puppy", at least I think it's a puppy.

It's light blue, with 3 spots on the belly (light blue, blue, & yellow) and 1 big yellow spot over the left eye. The ears are navy blue and stick on top of the head, which makes me question if it's a dog, bear or mouse. They are short like bear ears, but the spots make it look like a dog. It is from Carter's, and it's by Prestige Toy Corp. Carter's does not sell it any more.
