Are YOU searching for a lost toy? Check Our Own Plush Animals & Soft Dolls CATALOG, or CONTACT US
Maybe we've already FOUND one just like one you need. See what people are SEARCHING for. If you have one of these toys, or know where they can get one, please help these families out!
I read each request, do the initial search, request additional information and photos, and edit most of the photos. Often I do find the lovie, so those requests never show up on this blog. I answer each comment or email that comes in about a posted request, act as a go-between to link people who can help with those who need help, and add new requests as soon as I can. Due to health problems I got way behind posting requests, so now I am trying to stay current with requests and gradually catch up on the older requests.
I can't adequately thank all of you who search for all these lovies I do post about. I get the ball rolling, but YOU are the ones who make this site work!!
Searching - MANHATTAN Gray WANDA ELEPHANT
I have received THREE requests for help finding this WANDA Elephant just recently, so it's time to ask for help on this one again. There are several places online that have her in their catalog, but we have not been able to find anyone who actually has one in stock. We live in an area where Manhattan toys are not for sale in stores, so we have no way of finding one for them from yard sales or thrift stores. Hopefully someone will have better luck than we are having. So if you have a Wanda stuck back in the bottom of the toy box that your child does not care about, or can check out the local sales and thrift stores, please help these families. I have been searching online for days trying to find the WANDA elephant from Manhattan Toy. My son has had one for 2 years and even with a reserve of two extras, we have lost the last one this past week.
I see another posting of the same elephant, which is incredible, and am hoping you can find just one more, any size will do. I am desperate.
Please let me know if you think there is any hope.....Thank you so much,
Joey
Stephanie is looking for the Large Size as a replacement for her son’s special Wanda Elephant that he lost. And Nina writes: I too am looking for the Small Size grey Manhattan Toys elephant. We are desperate. We also placed an order with Maximacenter, only to find out that they no longer carry the elephant.
Jared, my son who will turn 4 in September, cannot live without his small "Ellie". A friend of ours (who knew nothing about babies!) came to visit Jared when he was born and brought the elephant as a gift.
As soon as Jared was old enough to have a stuffed animal in his crib with him, Ellie has been there. Jared and Ellie are best friends- Jared cannot sleep without her. We only have ONE Ellie which means that she is filthy, worn and very loved. We don't let her leave the house unless we are going on an overnight or vacation. When never put her in checked luggage, she's always in my handbag.
Jared understands that Ellie is a one-of-a-kind. But we fear the day that something will happen to Ellie. She's as old as Jared is... almost 4, and her seams are starting to open up a bit.
We are hoping that somewhere we can find a few new small Wanda elephants so that heaven forbid anything happens to Jared's Ellie, we will be able 'replace' her.

Searching - MANHATTAN GRAY RABBIT with HUGE SAD EYES Josephine Bunny? Langlies?
I need help finding a replacement for my 11 month old's lovie. It is a gray rabbit made by Manhattan Toy company. We contacted Manhattan Toy and they think it was named "Josephine Bunny" made in 1996, or that it may have been part of the Langlies series. We are not sure.
Madelyn calls him "Newie". And she loves this bunny more than anything and won't sleep with out it. Needless to say, we are in trouble!
Please help us locate another "Newie", Mindy If you can help Mindy find this Manhattan Gray Rabbit, please Contact Us, including #071308-1 in the subject, or Comment Here. Searching - Manhattan Toy RAGTAIL Brown STRIPED MONKEY
My name is Stephane and I live in Paris. I am a single parent with a 4 years old daughter, Isabelle.
When Isabelle was 2, she lost her plush (a little monkey) in a park and two years later, she still talks about it. He is a Ragtail 8" Manhattan monkey. It's not that she's sad about her loss. She just trusts me to find it again. You know how little girls can see their daddy like omnipotent gods!
It's been two years now, and I've been looking everywhere. I've even tried to get in touch with the manufactor in China, but the company has closed!
I could say that you are truly my last hope. Stephane

Searching - Manhattan LONG LEG Floppy Dark GRAY ELEPHANT Not Wanda
I received an email from Ada, who is sure it is a Manhattan elephant, thanks to a readable tush tag. She writes:Hi there! I was looking for the exact elephant for my 9 month old boy, and I saw your post!! I went through the Manhattan Toy website, but I don't think they carry it anymore.
If you know where I could find this elephant, please please please let me know. And here's Suzy's request for help:
Our daughter lost her stuffed elephant in a Paris taxi, and there is no way to locate it. It was purchased for her by a friend, we believe at the Anthropologie store in Philadelphia in 2002, and we think, but are not certain, that it was made by Manhattan Toy.
It is a very, very floppy, dark grey elephant with slightly lighter grey fur on his belly and the inside of his ears, with long, stringy legs and arms (the arms and legs about 10 inches long) and rounded feet. This is not a "Wanda" style elephant. Wanda is not the right color and is too plush.
The fur on the elephant we're looking for is not really plush -- it's more nubby -- like the Jellycat "Junglie" style toys, only none of the Jellycat styles on the market look like the elephant we are missing, because their limbs are too fat and the Jellycat elephants are either blue-ish or light grey, not dark grey.
If I could just figure out who manufactured this elephant, I'd call the manufacturer and plead for another at any price.

Searching - Manhattan Toy SUE the DUCK Yellow BLANKIE Blue Satin Back
In 2005 my son received a satin/plush blankie/lovie as a gift. It looked like a duck, with light blue satin on one side and yellow plush on the other. It was made by Manhattan Toy, and he loved it for years.
In January, I left it in a cab in Manhattan. It hasn't turned up in lost and found. He asks for it all the time. If he sees a picture of New York City or a yellow taxi, he points to it and says "that's where my duck lovie is, can I have it?"
I need to find this for him. I've searched Manhattan Toys website and retailers and haven't found it. It would mean so much to me and my wife if we could replace it.
Thanks, Ajay
It is so unusual for a toy company to be of any help with these lost lovies, I'd like to take this opportunity to brag on Manhattan Toy. Here's a small part of the email reply to Ajay's email to them:Thank you for contacting Manhattan Toy. You are looking for the Sue the Duck blankie. It was discontinued several years and is no longer available. The only place they come up is on eBay. I checked for you this morning, but they don’t have any listed. If you can help Ajay find this Manhattan Duck blankie, please Contact Us, including #052608-1 in the subject, or Comment Here. Searching - Manhattan Toy MAX the DOG FINGER PUPPET from the Grinch Set
I am looking for a finger puppet by Manhattan toy. It is from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas finger puppet theater set- Max the Dog! My son loved Max best and decided he had to carry him to Target one day. Wouldn't you know when we got home little Max wasn't with us anymore.
I called Target and even called Manhattan Toy - but the item is discontinued. I found a couple online new and emailed the people- but they wouldn't break up the set. I can't afford the $60+ price tag when I only need 1 of the puppets! Thanks! FOUND - WANDA ELEPHANT Manhattan Toy Co.
WOW! Great news on this one, friends!! I received an email today from the CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. OF MANHATTAN TOYS. Sandee writes to tell me that, "Our web manager happened to stumble across the blog and e-mailed me the request. I searched through our archives and found one." I've already written Lisa and forwarded the Manhattan Co. email to her. This is her reply: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are going to make one little boy named Grayson and his mommy very happy. We lost our small Wanda back in November. I have been doing everything to locate a new one. This included contacting Manhattan Toy and searching European websites! You must be magical, because I just contacted Manhattan Toy and purchased one small Wanda!
Did I say Thank you! :}
Lisa We read so often where parents have tried contacting the companies directly, with no luck. Most won't even bother to help at all. And here, this company went to the trouble to help this family!! I suspect the msnbc.com feature has something to do with my "magic." LOL!!! HOORAY for MANHATTAN TOY CO.!!
I am looking for a small Wanda Elephant made by Manhattan Toy Company. I tried the Maximacenter website several months ago, and they didn't have them (apparently they still have not updated their site!). It is my understanding that Manhattan Toy has quit making this line of plush.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Lisa If you can help Lisa find this small version of Wanda the Elephant, please Contact Us, including #011408-1 in the subject, or Comment Here.
